Already for 2011, there are 100 school visits
arranged to the
FAI (Food Animal Initiative) Farm at
Wytham near Oxford. The visits are very popular with
schools and universities across the country and they
fulfill a vital need in showing children where their
food comes from. The farm is a wonderful resource for
showing all our visitors how good welfare can be
incorporated into real farming. However we must have
trained people on hand to run the visits and make sure
all our visitors are kept safe and healthy. We are
therefore raising funds for two part-time Education
Officers. We have raised £16,500 so far but need to
£36,000 each year to be able to continue to offer
safe, informative visits to schools.
